Dr. Leanne Nichols is currently the Assistant Athletic Trainer for Sports Medicine at Cleary University. A 2010 graduate of Alma College, Leanne completed a Bachelors of Science in Athletic Training. She then went on to complete a Masters degree in Sports Administration at Wayne State University in 2014 and received her Doctorate in Athletic Training from A.T. Still University in June of 2020.
Leanne was the first full time athletic trainer at Cleary University, from 2015-2018. She returned to Cleary in September of 2020 after completing her doctorate.
As the assistant athletic trainer Leanne cares for athletes from all 19 athletic teams. This includes evaluations for injury and illness, diagnosis, emergency care, rehabilitation, referral to specialist in a variety of areas, and proper documentation. She also works with the head athletic trainer on administrative duties such as updating policy and procedures, communication with coaches and administrators, planning and organizing physicals and intakes, supply inventory and ordering and a number of other administrative tasks.
