Cleary University Commons will be the site of a unique art event this fall that’s open to students, faculty, staff, and the broader Livingston County community! On Tuesday, November 19, 2024, the Livingston Fine Arts Association (LFAA) is gathering at Cleary University Commons, 3750 Cleary Drive in Howell, for a hands-on mosaic workshop led by the talented artist Laura “Cleo” Sedoryk.
About the Event
This LFAA meeting will bring the community together to learn the art of mosaics from Cleo herself. Each participant will create a personalized mosaic using a wooden initial letter (about 6 inches tall), arranging glass pieces to create a unique and colorful design. Cleo, known for her skill in hand-cut glass mosaics and reverse glass paintings, will share tips on how to “paint with glass” and bring your artistic vision to life. Cleo has been featured in local art venues such as the Brighton Library, Howell Opera House, and Art in the Alley, and her works are celebrated for their vibrant, intricate style.

Each participant will complete the front of their mosaic letter during the meeting, and Cleo will take the letters to grout and finish them. For those who want their mosaic letters as Christmas gifts, Cleo will arrange for early delivery.
This is an incredible opportunity to create a custom piece of art and take home a memorable gift. It’s also a chance to meet others in the local art community and gain inspiration from a seasoned mosaic artist!
