Jane Scales is Instructional Librarian for Cleary University. She also develops instructional design programs, and teaches Applied Research and Design Methods, a graduate course that covers the process of formulating research questions and hypotheses.
Scales earned a B.A. in Russian language from Indiana University Bloomington; an M.A. in German language and literature from Ohio State University; and a Master of Library and Information Science from the University of Kentucky.
She specializes in qualitative research and instructional design.
Scales formerly served as a distance learning librarian and head of reference services at Washington State University as well as an adjunct instructor and librarian for Harrison College in Indianapolis. She also works as a technical writer on a freelance basis.
Scales loves working at a small school and interacting with students and faculty as they do their research.
