Tammy Root has served as an Academic Advisor at Cleary University since the summer of 2021. Root supports students and athletes at Cleary by helping create schedules, discovering possible job opportunities, and setting goals that can be achieved while in school and beyond.
Root has taught several college-level courses across Michigan including Writing Composition, Adult Learning, and Student Success. Root has more than 25 years of experience in education. She has worked for several colleges and universities across the country and has served in various roles at each school. Root brings a unique insight into how students learn, grow, and succeed, and is grateful for all the caring and hardworking community of students and staff at Cleary.
Root earned a bachelor’s degree in Education from Grand Valley State University in Allendale, Michigan. She went on to obtain a master’s degree in higher education, focusing on mathematics and literacy, from Walden University in their online accelerated program.
Root states, “I love working for a college that prepares the student for their future career as well as educates the student, as a whole, through human relations and philosophy.”
